Shelly Bay Resort offers full tourist information and tour booking facilities at Reception. We book all tours operating in the area including Fraser, Lady Elliot and Lady Musgrave Islands and Whale Watch. We can pre book tours prior to your arrival to avoid the disappointment of missing out on the tours of your choice in busy times.

We can arrange a courtesy pick up from our property for most tours.

If you're taking your own 4WD to Fraser we can advise you on conditions, permits and camping.

One Day Tour

Courtesy pick up. Tour departs from Mary River Heads to Wanggoolba Creek via Fraser Venture barge. Points of interest include Central Station rainforest, Lake Birrabeen, the Cathedrals coloured sands, beach, Eli Creek, perched freshwater lakes Jennings & Birrabeen and the shipwreck Maheno. Swim at Lake Birrabeen and Eli Creek. Buffet lunch is included at Eurong Beach Resort.A scenic flight over the Island is also available at an additional cost.

2 Day Tour

Courtesy pick up. Departs Mary River Heads to Wangoolba Creek via Fraser Venture barge. Visit Central Station, Pile Valley, Lake Wabby, Eli Creek, Maheno wreck, Cathedrals, Lake McKenzie. Accommodation & all meals at Eurong Beach Resort.

KINGFISHER BAY TOURS

DISCOVERY DAY TOURS

Courtesy pick up from Shelly Bay Resort then Fastcat past Woody Island National Park to Kingfisher Bay. Board 4WD coach, visit Basin Lake, Central Station Rainforest, Wanggoolba Creek. Travel along beach to coloured cliffs of Cathedrals & Maheno wreck. Lunch at Eurong Resort & morning tea, time to swim & bush walk. Return to Kingfisher, cross to mainland. Optional $60 scenic flight available.

KINGFISHER LAKE McKENZIE DAY TOUR.

The only day tour which visits the famous Lake McKenzie. Begin your day with a courtesy pick up at 6:15am and then by fast cat to Kingfisher Bay.  Short tour of the resort and then on to the 4WD coach tour of the Hammerstone Sandblow, Lake Wabby Lookout, short travel on 75 mile beach, buffett lunch at Eurong Beach Resort, Central Station Rainforest Walk, Wanggoolba Creek, Pile Valley, then beautiful Lake McKenzie for afternoon tea and a swim.

Note: this tour includes a visit to the Maheno Wreck, coloured sands and Eli Creek.

KINGFISHER PERSONALISED DAY TOUR.

The perfect way for a small party of one to four people to plan their own personalised tour. you choose where you would like to go, what you would like to sea, and a qualified ranger will drive you in a comfortable 4WD. Cost is $760. For an additional charge you can also order a picnic hamper to enjoy besides a lake or on the beach.

DAY AWAY

Includes: Return catamaran cruise, lunch and morning or afternoon tea, ranger guided walk. Departs Urangan Boat Harbour 8.30am and 12 noon. Departs Fraser Island 2.00pm and 5.00pm.

DINNER CRUISE

Amazing value! Fast cat trip across the Sandy Straits to Fraser Island for a Buffet Dinner in the award winning Maheno Restaurant at Kingfisher Bay Resort. Fridays and Saturday evenings include an all-you-can-eat Seafood Buffet Dinner $65 per adult and $30 per child.

Note: Costs include return catamaran transfer.

LADY ELLIOT ISLAND DAY TOUR

Visit the Great Barrier Reef for the day. Enjoy a short scenic flight to Lady Elliot Island and spend 5 - 6 hours on the reef. Take either a guided boat snorkel or a glass bottom boat tour to see an under water world of brilliantly coloured species of coral, and a guided reef walk. Buffet lunch and use of Resort facilities included, as are the snorkel equipment and reef walking shoes.

FLYDRIVE

A wonderful day starting with a scenic flight over Fraser Island landing on the eastern beach where you collect you 4WD and then set off driving yourself around the beauty spots of your choice. Stay over accommodation can be added to this trip.

CORAL VIEWING

Krystal Klear - Glass Bottom Boat

40ft glass bottom boat coral viewing. Snorkel the reef, feed fish, view turtles, admire dolphins and swim in calm waters, Tropical BBQ lunch on deserted Round Island.
