Getting To Hervey Bay

Hervey Bay is a 3.5 hour drive north of Brisbane and 2.5 hour drive north of the Sunshine Coast along the Bruce Highway. It's an easy drive with a number of places where you can stop and for a break. Take the Maryborough exit off the Bruce Highway and follow the signs to Hervey Bay.

If you're travelling from the north then Hervey Bay is a 4 hour drive south from Rockhampton - take the Howard/Torbanlea exit.

By Air

Virgin Blue offers a direct service from Sydney to Hervey Bay twice daily, with connecting flights from all other capital cities via Sydney.

Prefer Qantas or Jetstar?  Fly with your choice of airline to Brisbane, then direct to Hervey Bay via QantasLink 3 times a day.  An Airport Shuttle Bus Bay meets all flights (ph. 07 4155 0244) and can drop you right at the front door of Australis Shelly Bay Resort. Alternatively, the Hervey Bay Limousine Service can be arranged prior to arrival by calling their reservations on (07) 4124 5855.

Alternative airports include Bundaberg Airport & Sunshine Coast Airport where a short and relaxing journey by hire car will have you in Hervey Bay a less than 1.5hrs (from Bundaberg) and less than 2.5hrs (from Maroochydoore - Sunshine Coast).

By Train

You can take the Tilt Train from Roma St. in Brisbane or from the Cairns Transit Centre (or any stop along the way) to the Maryborough West Transit Centre where you can then take the Trainlink Coach direct to our Resort - both can be organised by calling 132 232.

By Bus

Greyhound Australia offers twice daily arrivals into Hervey Bay from the north (Cairns & Whitsundays) and from the South via Brisbane.  Greyhound will deliver you directly to the Hervey Bay Transit Centre where a short (7 minute) cab fare to our resort can be organised.
